Safety & Risk Notice
IMPORTANT: By using the DuoSeat app, you acknowledge and agree to the following safety warnings, risk disclosures, and responsibilities. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service or attend any experience arranged through it.
1. User Responsibility
All in-person meetings are voluntary and undertaken entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for your personal safety, decisions, behavior, judgment, and compliance with all applicable laws. DuoSeat does not and cannot guarantee your safety.
2. No Guarantee of Safety
DuoSeat does NOT:
- Screen Users or perform background, criminal, or identity checks;
- Verify the identity, history, intent, or suitability of any User;
- Supervise, monitor, or control meetups or events;
- Guarantee safety, compatibility, reliability, or trustworthiness;
- Guarantee the behavior, actions, or inactions of any User or third party;
- Assume a duty to warn or protect you from other Users or third parties.
You must use caution, awareness, and personal responsibility at all times. Any optional verification features, if offered, do not constitute a guarantee of safety or identity.
3. Risks of In-Person Interaction
Meeting strangers and attending events carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Personal injury or death;
- Illness or exposure to contagious conditions;
- Emotional or psychological harm;
- Property loss, damage, or theft;
- Harassment, abuse, or discrimination;
- Criminal activity or dangerous conduct;
- Misrepresentation, fraud, or deception by Users or third parties.
By using DuoSeat, you voluntarily assume all such known and unknown risks associated with interacting with others and attending events coordinated through the Service.
4. Ticket & Event Risks
DuoSeat does not validate, authenticate, or guarantee:
- Tickets or passes of any kind;
- Venue access, seating, or admission policies;
- Event dates, times, cancellations, or changes;
- Host reliability, punctuality, or communication;
- The quality, safety, or suitability of any event or experience.
Hosts are solely responsible for their own tickets and for the accuracy of their posted information. You are responsible for independently confirming event details with official sources when necessary.
5. Safety Recommendations
We strongly suggest that Users:
- Meet in well-lit, public locations for initial meetups;
- Inform a trusted friend or family member of the time, place, and host information;
- Arrange their own transportation and have an independent way to leave;
- Trust their instincts and leave immediately if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe;
- Refrain from sharing highly sensitive personal information with strangers;
- Use in-app or email reporting tools to report concerns about Users or events.
6. Law Enforcement & Emergencies
If you feel unsafe, threatened, or believe a crime is occurring, you should leave the situation immediately and contact local law enforcement or emergency services. DuoSeat is not a law enforcement agency, emergency responder, or crisis service and cannot dispatch help on your behalf.
7. No Liability
DuoSeat LLC is not responsible for, and disclaims all liability for:
- Harm, injury, or damages resulting from User interactions or events;
- Actions, statements, omissions, or behavior of Users or third parties;
- Conduct occurring at, on the way to, or around events or meetups;
- Physical injury, emotional harm, or property loss or damage;
- Crimes, misconduct, unsafe conditions, or hazardous environments;
- Transportation issues, weather conditions, venue policies, or cancellations.
Your use of the Service confirms your agreement to the full Release of Liability and Limitation of Liability described in the DuoSeat Terms of Service. This Safety & Risk Notice is intended to supplement, not limit, the Terms of Service.
